All of South Adams County Water

South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (“District”) has contracted with Diaz Construction Group, LLC (“Diaz”) to construct nearly 5,200 linear feet of 8-inch potable water line with construction taking place in E. 74th Avenue, Garden Court, E. 74th Place, and Garden Lane between Oneida Street and Quebec Street and in addition, Newport Street between E. 74th Avenue and Highway 2. The purpose of this project is to replace aging infrastructure as part of preventative maintenance as well as to increase fire protection on these streets.

Diaz and its sub-contractors will begin mobilizing crews in the project area to begin pipeline construction around the last week in June or the first week in July. The most significant impact to the public will be as water lines are installed in front of residences/businesses, construction impacting lanes in the street, and service interruption when the existing water services to each resident/business needs to be transferred from the existing water main to the new potable water main. We will be communicating in advance with any affected customers of any upcoming planned disruptions to water service.

Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., construction could impact lanes and traffic within the streets of the project area. Traffic will be managed with roadway signs and flaggers (if necessary) to maintain accessibility and ensure vehicles can move through the project area. Diaz will have sign boards with applicable messaging about upcoming traffic pattern changes.

The overall construction project is expected to be completed by early November 2024. This tentative schedule and plan are dependent on weather.
